The first edition of Robots of Dawn, published in 1983, by Phantasia Press was issued in signed numbered and lettered editions.

About this edition:

Using the original acid free archival text block from 1983, the Binary Edition is newly bound by hand, Smyth sewn with new head bands.

The boards are covered in First grade Chieftain Indian goatskin leather sourced from J. Hewit & Sons, Ltd. (By appointment to Her Majesty the Queen:  Holder of a Royal Warrant for 44 years.)

The custom tray case is covered in Japanese cloth.

The interior of the tray case and the book’s endpapers are of hand crafted, hand marbled jute paper which is fair trade certified from Bangladesh.

The new edition features four laser engraved aluminum inlays.

Each book has a uniquely designed and individually numbered 1 to 18 using binary code on aluminum plates.

All edges are foiled with prismatic palladium.

Featured is an integrated satin ribbon.

Three newly created pieces by artist Barclay Shaw, including a full color hand assembled pop-up robot.

Authentic Isaac Asimov signature from Robots and Empire (1985).

Signed by artist Barclay Shaw and publisher Alex Berman.
